I love the location of the hotel. To wake up in the morning and look out unto the greeneries of the garden was soothing. No honking cars or fumes. The breakfast that comes with the room is enough to keep you going the whole day. I will stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to my friends and family.
Just wish they can control the tiny ants in the room although it never reaches the beds.

It is quiet and small like a boutique hotel.
no swimming pool and their breakfast has very limited choices. I have seen office cafeterias do better. No bar for late nighters.

The helpful staff and large car park are commendable.
The wifi connection was a nightmare. I couldn't connect to any channels all night, which would have been a major problem if I had to work. The swimming pool was very dirty and not usable, with leaves and insects floating around.

Hotel Tropika is a very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and very quick in responding to our needs. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is quite simple but the cafe staff are friendly and the service is good. The hotel's location is very convenient, it is 10 minutes to Abreeza-Ayala mall, 10 minutes to Redemptorist church and near the wharf, where the boats are for Paradise Island resort, Samal Island. What I like with the hotel is that they also provide free pick-up from the airport and going to and from the wharf.
It would have been better if they have a swimming pool. Perfect for the family.

A relaxing, quiet place to stay with the city right outside it's doors.

Had a very short stay but really enjoyed it! The room was big, and we loved the saltwater pool. Staff were accommodating, and the food was excellent. Perfect for a family getaway, and their cleanliness standards are great.

The breakfast spread at Tropika was a good start to my day, with fresh seasonal fruits and a bomb omelet made just how I like it. The saltwater pool was refreshing and a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the city. The staff were warm and helpful.
Just one hiccup with the WiFi-couldn't connect for a minute, a bit of a hassle.

The location (near to airport) and close to shops, malls, city hall. it is set back quite a way from the busy road and therefore felt safe, private and quiet at all times. the staff are very friendly, helpful and willing to resolve any issues quickly and efficiently. the food is good to very good and priced reasonably well. accomodation prices are on par with other hotels...however, for the money i would pick 'tropika' every time. in fact that is what we did......we liked it so much compared to other hotels we rebooked for our second visit. the gardens and landscaping compliments the hotel. there is a lot of space / open area which gives it that comfortable feeling. i would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a good value for money, clean, well run hotel that is ideally located. i /we have stayed at 4 hotels in the davao area (some worse, some better(twice the price))...my next trip i will book in at tropika again.
occasionally (maybe 2 or 3 times out of 15 ) the room service food was a little cold.

The spacious Beautiful Double room offered a fine sunrise view. The saltwater pool provided a clean and relaxing escape after days spent exploring, while the responsive staff addressed my requests with excellent attentiveness. The wifi connection was quite unreliable was nice. While breakfast included fresh omelets and seasonal fruits, a bit more variety would have improved the overall experience.
